In this video, one of Sasha’s clients shares her morning workout while taking the Buteyko Breathing Normalization Training course. Before joining, she hadn’t been exercising regularly. With Sasha’s guidance, she began incorporating movement into her mornings and noticed that her breathing was improving—it felt easier to breathe.
In Buteyko practice, how you breathe during exercise matters as much as the movement itself. The emphasis is on quiet, inaudible nasal breathing, especially inhaling through the nose rather than the mouth. The nose warms, humidifies, and filters incoming air, while keeping the breath quiet helps discourage unnecessarily large breaths. The goal is to build fitness while maintaining comfortable, controlled breathing. If you need to gasp or inhale through your mouth, ease the pace rather than force yourself to keep up.
Sasha emphasizes morning workouts before breakfast during the early stages of training, but movement throughout the day also offers opportunities to practice. These workouts help increase CO2, build stamina and make breathing feel stronger and easier, bringing the Buteyko method into everyday life.
